A Leg of the International Ice Canoeing Circuit
The Great Crossing Casino de Charlevoix is the first leg of the international ice canoeing circuit. Competitors leave from Isle-aux-Coudres and challenge the ice of the St. Lawrence River for 8 kilometres to Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive. Teams mainly come from Quebec, but also from Calgary, Chicago and France. This race is also a precursor of the famous canoe race during the Québec Winter Carnival.
