Accessible year round

A Charlevoix Cove

More than just a small village, Port-au-Persil is a hamlet discovered by Samuel de Champlain in the 17th century. Champlain gave this village its name because of the herb that was growing in the region (persil is the French word for parsley). Later, the inhabitants started to build their houses everywhere along the shore and in the mountain. Here, people live to the rhythms of the waves, away from the hustle and bustle of large cities.

In Port-au-Persil, you will not find any large hotel or boutiques, only the St. Lawrence River as well as some inns and bed & breakfasts. This village, located away from the main road of the region, offers you some rest and peace. This charming and picturesque hamlet is part of the Most Beautiful Villages of Québec Association. In this village, you can walk along the quay, admire an ancient chapel built in 1893 and visit the Poterie port-au-Persil. You can even take a pottery class if you stay long enough! If you are looking for a peaceful haven where you can relax, Port-au-Persil is the ideal place for you.
